The Blogger Agent (github.com/jakefearsd/blogger-agent, separate from the Wikantik codebase) is a workspace that lets a coding agent research, draft and publish blog posts to four Google Blogger publications. It is not a hosted service. Capabilities are split into modular Agent Skills (SKILL.md files under skills/) plus small Python utilities in scripts/ that wrap the Google Blogger API v3 and the Google Places API. Publishing goes only to Blogger, through the API; there are no webhooks and no Ghost, WordPress or Dev.to integration.
The four blogs it manages are San Diego Local Wiki, The California Foothills, Exploring Berlin! and Berlin Local Wiki, registered with their topical focus, audience and tone in blog_configs.md. See TheLocalWikiBloggerSites for the sites themselves.
The fully_automated_publishing skill is the orchestrator for scheduled or unattended runs. Its steps:
| Step | What happens | Artifact |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Topic selection | Take a pending idea for the target blog from content_calendar.md, or run ideate_topics to add new ones | Topic and target blog |
| 2. Context | Read the blog's focus, audience and tone from blog_configs.md | Brief |
| 3. Deep research | Targeted web searches for verified facts, dates, names and logistics | Research notes |
| 4. Drafting | write_blog_post: 800 to 1,200+ words of HTML following the brand-voice and SEO reference files | HTML draft |
| 5. Location enrichment | scripts/places_manager.py fetches the address, coordinates and a Maps link for a static map card | Location block |
| 6. SEO metadata | 3-5 labels and a search description under 150 characters | Labels and customMetaData |
| 7. Featured image | An image-generator subagent creates the image, which is committed to the blog-assets GitHub repository and referenced by its raw URL | Image in a responsive <figure> |
| 8. Publish | scripts/publish_post.py posts to the chosen blog (--draft stages instead of going live) | Live post URL |
| 9. Track | Record the post in content_calendar.md | Calendar row |
| 10. Promote | promote_on_socials appends Twitter/X copy to social_drafts.md | Social drafts |
The other skills (draft_and_review, publish_to_blogger, fetch_place_details, generate_featured_image, fetch_google_photo) cover the human-in-the-loop path and the individual steps.
The workspace guidelines (AGENTS.md) set the bar that every post must meet:
<html> wrapper and no <h1> (Blogger supplies the title as <h1>), <h2> for sections and <h3> for subsections, at least one styled "insider tip" callout, concrete visitor logistics, and two or three outbound links to official sources.scripts/publish_post.py, not throwaway scripts.See also: ContentPipelineHub.
